Time for a new update in the Logbook. Robot app V3.2.6.18, FJDynamics app V3.7.5, and Mowing Module V2.5.10 are rolling out to the RM21. Biggest news: LeafPass Mode, which lets the robot keep mowing under tree branches without triggering obstacle avoidance, new anti-slip levels, and safer handling of reversing and tilt during operation.

Update Reminder Before Installation

Before an update is installed, the app now automatically shows a summary of what's new and any risks involved, pulled from the "About Device" page. So you see what you're getting and what to watch out for before you tap update.

Safer Reversing During Obstacle Avoidance

When the robot needs to reverse back to an interruption point during obstacle avoidance, it now first checks whether the path behind it is clear. If an obstacle is detected behind it, the robot replans the route and drives forward to the point instead of reversing.

If the robot still collides while reversing, it automatically drives forward about 30 cm to free itself, then replans the route to reach the point moving forward. No further reversing attempt is made after a collision.

Warning When Mowing During Obstacle Avoidance

If you choose to keep the cutting blade active while the robot runs an obstacle-avoidance route (an unplanned path), a clear warning is now shown: check the mowing area carefully before continuing, as there may be a safety risk.

Obstacle Avoidance for the Grass Collector and Two-Wheel Mode

If you have the grass collector attached or are running in two-wheel mode, obstacle avoidance now works there too. It activates automatically as soon as you turn on two-wheel mode or attach the collector.

Temporary Override of Tilt Protection

If the robot ends up in a heavily tilted position (the threshold is 30 degrees), it stops and pauses any ongoing job. To let you remotely steer the robot out of a difficult spot, there's now a button to ignore the tilt warning for one minute, both on the robot's own screen and in the app.

If you enter remote-control mode while the robot is tilted, you'll get an extra prompt asking whether you want to ignore the tilt for 60 seconds to steer it out. A paused job never resumes automatically - you must press "Resume Job" yourself once the robot is stable again.

LeafPass Mode - Keep Mowing Under Tree Canopies

Previously, the robot would often trigger obstacle avoidance under trees and shrubs, meaning an area of roughly 0.5 to 1.5 meters under the canopy was never mowed automatically. With the new LeafPass Mode, the robot recognizes light obstacles like branches and leaves and drives through them instead of avoiding them. That means more areas under trees can be mowed mechanically, with less need for manual follow-up trimming.

The mode has its own settings under obstacle avoidance, visible when the feature is turned on:

  • Leaf/branch filtering distance - a higher value increases the risk of the robot driving into an obstacle, a lower value makes obstacle avoidance trigger more easily. Default 0.4, range 0.0-9.9.
  • Detection hold time - recommended to increase slightly at lower mowing speeds. Default 6.0, range 0.1-99.
  • Leaf detection accuracy - too low a value can trigger unnecessary obstacle avoidance, too high a value can make avoidance happen too late. Default 50, range 10-100.

When LeafPass Mode is enabled, it's shown directly in the settings list, making it easy to check the status in the field.

Anti-Slip Levels for Different Surfaces

A new anti-slip setting lets you choose between Firm Grip, Normal, Light and Severe, depending on how your lawn behaves. The robot automatically adapts its driving strategy to the selected level for more stable driving on wet or slippery ground.

Other

Multilingual translation has been calibrated, and a number of minor bugs have been fixed for an overall smoother user experience.

Summary

Robot app V3.2.6.18, FJDynamics app V3.7.5, and Mowing Module V2.5.10 make the robot better at mowing close to trees and shrubs thanks to LeafPass Mode, handle slippery ground more intelligently with the new anti-slip levels, and become safer during obstacle avoidance through improved reversing logic and clearer warnings.
