INSPECTION & PUBLIC SAFETY

C640-SE gimbal camera

See, measure and track from the air.

The C640-SE is a 3-axis AI gimbal camera for inspection, public safety and emergency response. It combines a 48 MP wide-angle camera, a 48 MP zoom camera, a 1.2 km laser rangefinder and a thermal imager that locates heat sources and measures temperature.

According to CHCNAV's brochure. The thermal imager is part of the C640 series; the C630 series has none.

What it does

Clear images and video

The wide-angle camera has a 24 mm lens (83.4° DFOV). The zoom camera has 15–50 mm focal length (81–270 mm equivalent), 11× hybrid optical zoom plus 22× lossless electronic zoom. Both record 4000 × 3000 at 30 fps.

Thermal imaging and ranging

A 640 × 512 thermal imager (8–14 µm, NETD ≤ 50 mK) supports spot and area temperature measurement from -20 to +150 °C and 100 to 550 °C. The 905 nm laser rangefinder measures 5–1,200 m with ±1.0 m accuracy up to 1,000 m.

AI and smart tracking

6 TOPS of built-in computing power drives AI recognition and counting of people, vehicles, vessels and licence plates. Point-to-target aiming and focus tracking lock onto a target and follow it, and an open platform supports third-party detection models.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the C640-SE and C630?

According to CHCNAV the C640 series is equipped with an infrared thermal imager, while the C630 series is not.

What can the AI function do?

It detects and counts people, vehicles, vessels and licence plates, and supports intelligent tracking. An open model deployment platform lets third parties add their own detection models.

Which drone does it fit?

The C640-SE is shown mounted under the CHCNAV X500 in CHCNAV's material and attaches through the CH-Port interface.
