RAM Level Cup 16oz Drink Holder with RAM Tough-Claw Mount
A self-leveling drink holder that clamps, tool-free, onto almost any round or square rail, bar, or edge -- turning a service vehicle, ATV, boat, or wheelchair into something with a proper cup holder wherever one is needed.
Why this is not "just a cup holder"
This product is the drink holder itself, not an add-on that goes inside an existing cup holder -- the RAM Tough-Claw base is a spring-loaded, tool-free jaw clamp that grips round rails, square bars, and odd-shaped edges from 0.625" to 1.14" in diameter (or thickness), no wrench required. That makes it useful anywhere there is a rail or bar but no cup holder at all: a roll bar, a bike or wheelchair frame, a boat rail, a service cart. The RAM Level Cup itself has two pivot points so the cup stays upright over bumps and turns, rather than spilling with the vehicle's motion, and rotates a full 360 degrees on the claw.
Features
- Self-leveling, gyroscopic drink holder keeps cups, cans, bottles, or mugs from 2.5" to 3.5" in diameter upright and spill-free
- RAM Tough-Claw base clamps tool-free onto round, square, or odd-shaped rails and bars 0.625" - 1.14" in diameter, and flat surfaces
- Includes a koozie insert and an integrated tether eyelet and hook for open containers
- Rotates 360 degrees on the claw base
- Compact, low-profile, tool-free removal -- easy to pack and re-mount on a different vehicle
How RAM's modular system works
Every RAM mount is built from up to three parts that click together. A base clamps, bolts, or straps onto the vehicle -- a dash, a windshield, a cup holder, or a rail. An arm connects two RAM balls together and can be locked at any angle, so once mounted you can tilt, rotate, and reposition the device freely, then lock it firmly in place by hand. A cradle or holder grips the specific device -- phone, tablet, or drink.
Not every product includes all three parts -- some are just the base, some bundle a holder, some are a complete kit. This page says plainly which parts are included with this particular SKU, so you know exactly what you are getting and what, if anything, you would need to add.
The ball size determines what it can carry
RAM uses five ball sizes, each rated for a different weight and duty class. This product's base uses RAM's Tough-Claw jaw clamp instead of a ball-and-arm kit -- the cup holder attaches directly to the claw, so there is no separate arm to size. B Size (part numbers starting RAM-B-...) is RAM's most common size, standard duty -- what RAM recommends for phones, GPS units, and light tablets in normal use. C Size (plain RAM-... part numbers, no letter prefix) is heavy duty, used for larger tablets and anything mounted somewhere that gets a lot of vibration or shock. D and E Size are reserved for large monitors and specialist equipment.
Rule of thumb: if the mount will live somewhere frequently jostled or vibrated -- an off-road vehicle, a gravel road at speed -- RAM recommends stepping up to a larger ball size for extra stability, even if a lighter mount would technically hold the device's weight.
No tools required, on purpose
RAM arms are designed to be tightened by hand only -- there is no official torque spec, because the ball-and-socket joint is meant to be adjustable in the field without a wrench. If hand-tightening does not hold your device firmly, that is usually a sign the ball size is undersized for the device -- sizing up solves it, rather than over-tightening.
Aluminum or composite -- both built for the outdoors
RAM mounts are made from marine-grade aluminum or high-strength composite, depending on the product; both carry a lifetime warranty and similar weight ratings. Aluminum's powder-coat finish handles rough vibration and shock slightly better; composite has no paint to chip and is often preferred in high-corrosion or salt-air environments. Neither choice is worse -- it is a trade-off between finish and environment.

Frequently asked questions
Does it clamp onto my vehicle's rail or bar without drilling or tools?
Yes. The Tough-Claw is a spring-loaded jaw clamp -- squeeze, position, and release, no wrench or drill needed, and it comes off the same way to move to another vehicle.
How firmly does the claw hold over time and vibration?
The spring-loaded jaw is designed for vehicles, boats, and bikes that see regular vibration -- RAM recommends periodically checking that the jaw is still fully closed on the rail, as with any tool-free clamp, but it does not loosen from normal driving.
What cup and drink sizes fit?
Any cup, can, bottle, or mug from 2.5" to 3.5" in diameter, holding roughly 12-16 oz. A koozie insert is included to snug up smaller cans.
Is drilling required?
No. The Tough-Claw base is entirely tool-free, on rails/bars or flat surfaces alike.
Will the drink actually stay upright over bumps?
That is the point of the Level Cup design -- it has two independent pivot points (in addition to the claw's own rotation), so the cup itself stays level even as the vehicle tilts, rather than only rotating with the mount.
