The P2 is sold in five configurations combining camera (standard, Insta360 X3 or Insta360 X5) and storage (512 GB or 1 TB). The standard camera covers most work; X3/X5 add high-resolution panorama texture for property documentation and cultural heritage; 1 TB removes the need to offload during long days.

P2 or the S2 series?
The P2 is the light, go-anywhere scanner: 700 grams and 70 metres of range, ideal indoors, in properties and wherever you carry the scanner all day. The S2 series is the long-range workhorse: 1.8 kg with 120 to 300 metres of range for large outdoor areas.

The P2 is built as a complete portable system - four parts take you from scan to finished delivery:
1. The scanner
The P2 unit itself. Switch on, wait for SLAM to find its position, and walk - the point cloud builds in real time as you move.
2. The FJD Trion Scan app
Your phone or tablet connects over WiFi and shows the cloud live while you scan - you see immediately if anything was missed before leaving the site.
3. NTRIP account - for real GPS coordinates
The built-in RTK module delivers centimetre positioning when fed corrections from an NTRIP network. Without it, scanning works just as well but lands in a local coordinate system. RoboService runs its own RTK network with NTRIP subscriptions.
4. FJD Trion Model
Post-processing: classification, volumes, contours, drawings and BIM export. Runs on PC or iPad - licence sold separately, from base level up to specialist modules.

Frequently asked questions
Which camera configuration should I choose?
The standard camera suits most work. Insta360 X3/X5 add higher panorama quality for projects where visual presentation matters - property documentation, cultural heritage, marketing material.
When do I need the 1 TB variant?
For long continuous scanning sessions or many separate objects in one day, where you would otherwise have to stop and offload storage on site.
What makes the P2 different from the S2 series?
Weight and reach: the P2 weighs 700 grams against the S2's 1.8 kg, with 70 metres of range against 120-300. Choose the P2 for all-day handheld work and interiors, the S2 series for large outdoor areas.
Do I need an NTRIP subscription?
Only for real GPS coordinates. SLAM scanning works without it, but with the built-in RTK fed by RoboRTK the model lands exactly where it belongs on the map.
What is HyperDense+?
A scanning mode that delivers 5-7 times denser point clouds for better colorization and finer detail - according to FJDynamics.
What file formats does it deliver?
Point clouds in .las, .ply, .pts and .e57 - open formats that drop straight into CAD, BIM and GIS software.
What software do I need?
The free FJD Trion Scan app in the field, and FJD Trion Model for post-processing on PC or iPad - licences sold separately from us.
