RAM Tab-Tite Holder for 9"-10.5" Tablets with Heavy Duty Cases
A form-fit case for your tablet, not a universal clamp: custom end cups snap around your exact device and its heavy-duty case, then lock spring-loaded into any RAM base.
There are two honest ways to hold a tablet in a RAM mount, and they solve different problems. A universal holder like RAM's X-Grip clamps around whatever device you put in it - convenient if you might swap tablets later, but it grips the device by its edges from the outside. Tab-Tite works differently: the tablet (in its case) drops into a form-fit tray sized to that exact device, with cut-outs for buttons, ports, and the camera, and the two halves close around it. That gives a tighter, more precise fit for one specific tablet model - at the cost of needing the right end cups for your device.
Features
- Spring-loaded, form-fit design secures the tablet in its heavy-duty case with custom end cups shaped to the device
- End cups are interchangeable - when you upgrade tablets, swap the cups instead of buying a new holder
- Cut-outs in the end cups keep every button, port, and the camera accessible while mounted
- Compatible with both B-size and C-size RAM ball bases, giving a wider choice of arms
- Built from high-strength composite, tested suitable for salt-water and marine environments
- Backed by RAM's lifetime warranty
How RAM's modular system works
This is the cradle only - the third of RAM's three building blocks. It grips the tablet; you still need a separate ball base that mounts to the vehicle and an arm that connects the two.
Every RAM mount is built from up to three parts that click together: a base that clamps, bolts, or straps onto the vehicle; an arm that connects two RAM balls and locks at any angle by hand, so the device can be tilted, rotated, and repositioned freely; and a cradle that grips the specific device - here, the Tab-Tite form-fit tray.
This is one of the few RAM holders that attaches to either ball size: a lighter B-size (1") ball base, or the heavier-duty C-size (1.5") base. RAM recommends B size for phones and light tablets in normal use, and stepping up to C size for anything mounted somewhere that sees a lot of vibration or shock - a tractor, ATV, or UTV cab is exactly that case, so C size is the safer default choice for this holder in agricultural or off-road use.
As with the rest of RAM's range, the finished mount is tightened entirely by hand - no wrench or torque spec. If the tablet ever works loose under vibration, that points to an undersized ball on the arm or base, not a reason to force the Tab-Tite's own latch tighter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this come with an arm and base, or just the tablet holder?
Just the holder. You still need a separate B-size or C-size ball base and a matching double socket arm - we stock both as add-ons, including the RAM Round Plate with Ball - C Size shown above.
How is this different from RAM's X-Grip universal holder?
X-Grip is a spring-loaded clamp that closes around whatever tablet you put in it, case or no case - flexible if you might change devices. Tab-Tite uses form-fit end cups sized to your exact tablet and case, which holds it more precisely but only fits the dimensions listed above.
What's the difference between the locking and non-locking versions?
This product (RAM-HOL-TAB20U) is spring-loaded and pulls straight up for quick removal - no key needed. The locking version (RAM-HOL-TABL20U) adds a locking mechanism for theft deterrence or to stop the tablet being removed without a key.
Will it work with a Bluetooth keyboard case attached?
Generally no - RAM's own guidance is that a keyboard case attached to the tablet typically adds too much depth or width for the form-fit tray. Compare your tablet-plus-case-plus-keyboard dimensions to the ranges above before ordering, or remove the keyboard before mounting.
Is it suitable for a boat or salt-air environment?
Yes - the composite construction and stainless steel hardware are tested suitable for salt-water environments, unlike hardware that relies on untreated steel or bare aluminum.
Can I use the same holder if I switch to a different ball size arm later?
Yes - that's the point of it accepting both B-size and C-size bases. You can start with a lighter B-size arm and move up to C-size later (or vice versa) without replacing the tablet holder itself, only the ball base.
