Why the S2Max over the S2Pro?
300 metres of range - 2.5x the Pro
At 80% reflectivity the S2Max reaches 300 metres where the S2 and S2Pro stop at 120. Large open areas are captured in a fraction of the setups.
Same top density as the Pro
Nothing is traded away: the S2Max carries the same 32 channels and 640,000 points per second - long range AND full detail.
Fewer setups, faster projects
Every setup costs time. Covering a golf hole or a quarry wall from a couple of positions instead of ten changes the economics of the whole survey.

Frequently asked questions
What does the S2Max give me over the S2Pro?
The range: 300 metres instead of 120, at the same 640,000 pts/s density. It is the model for golf courses, corridors, quarries and open landscapes.
Is the S2Max always the best choice?
Honestly, no - if you scan indoors or within 120 metres, the S2Pro delivers identical results for less. The Max earns its price when distance matters.
Why is the S2Max the golf course scanner?
A golf hole is hundreds of metres long. With 300 m range the whole hole is captured in a couple of setups, and the model then drives RM21P/RCM01 robotic mowing, route planning and course management.
Does it work with drones?
There is a drone mount in the Trion accessory range - contact us and we will match the right mounting for your platform.
Do the same accessories fit?
Yes - vest, poles, mounts, suitcase and backpack are shared across the whole S2 series.
Do I need RTK/GNSS?
No - SLAM positioning works without satellites. Add RTK with an NTRIP subscription when the model must sit in real coordinates - RoboService runs its own NTRIP network.
